Guitar Music

Guitar music is music wherein the main melody comes from playing the guitar. In most cases, guitar music is instrumental and may range from a number of genres such as industrial rock, blues, jazz, contemporary rock and metal. Various types of guitars are used in guitar music including electric guitars, semi- hollow guitars, acoustic guitars and classic guitars.

There are a lot of known artists that play guitar music. Here are some of the more popular artists that play guitar music:

Guitar music by Steve Vai

Steven "Steve" Siro Vai was the student of another notable guitar music artist, Joe Satriani. After attending the Berklee College of Music, Vai started doing transcriptions for the music genius, Frank Zappa. Steve Vai then became a member of Zappa's band. Vai then worked with artists such as David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper and joined the band "Whitesnake" as well. Vai also went solo and came up with several albums such as "Passion and Warfare", "Alien Love Secrets", and "The Ultra Zone". Steve Vai has won numerous awards from the Grammys, Guitar Player Magazine, Guitar World and other award giving bodies.

Guitar music by Andy Mckee

Andy Mckee was given his biggest break when he posted a video of him playing his guitar music on a video streaming website. His video has generated over fifteen million views and resulted in him being one of the best selling artists of his label, Candyrat Records. He is known to play American fingerstyle guitar music, and his flagship song is called "Drifting". He also contributed to Josh Groban's best-selling CD of 2007, "Noel".

Guitar music by Al Di Meola

The Italian American Al Di Meola is both a jazz fusion and Latin jazz guitarist. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and later became part of Chick Corea's band, Return to Forever. He has won the Best Jazz Guitarist award of Guitar Player Magazine's Reader Poll for four times.

Guitar music by B.B. King

B.B. King is an American blues guitarist. He plays his guitar music through his guitar he calls "Lucille". He is known to be one of the most respected blues guitar music artists and landed third place in Rolling Stone Magazine's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
